These elegant earrings feature three or four small huayruru seeds embedded in clear resin wrapped within a silver rim in attractive shapes.  These naturally two-tone seeds from this distinctive group of tropical trees in the bean family are mostly reddish-orange with a distinctive black patch.  Throughout the Amazon they are considered to bring the bearer good luck, but it is important to remember they are not edible.

These earrings are made by an experienced artisan from the Peruvian Amazon. The French hooks are made with non-allergenic material.

Support native artisans
& rainforest in the Amazon

Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
