Peruvian Amazon Clan Ocaina Symbol Design, Crocheted Shoulder Strap Bag
These boho style shoulder strap bags were handwoven by artisans native to the Peruvian Amazon, with natural and durable chambira palm fiber. They are useful for carrying a laptop to a coffee shop, shopping in a outdoor market or toting your towel, good book and suntan lotion to the beach. This traditional crochet stitch bag is available in two color combinations, and both feature the symbol of the Ocaina vulture clan in the Peruvian Amazon. One is yellow, black and brown, has a shoulder strap that is 1.25" by 39", and the other is green, natural ivory chambira color, black and yellow and its strap is 1" by 40". Both are made by an artisan from the Nueva Esperanza artisan collective.
A tag lists the artisan's name and community and the plants they used to make it. Please note that each handmade bag may vary from the photo shown.

Support native artisans & rainforest in the Amazon
Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
