Woven hot pad (trivet) and center piece - black with diamond figures
This elegant design of a hot pad (trivet) and center piece is based on a traditional Bora pattern element called a coco (diamond shape) made by artisans from the village of Brillo Nuevo on the Ampiyacu River. Its embroidered coco maroon figures are dyed with natural sisa leaves on a natural off-white chambira palm fiber. Please remember that each item is hand-made and may vary somewhat from the photo of its model.

Support native artisans & rainforest in the Amazon
Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
