These earrings are perfect for people with energy because they are made from the rustic scales of the arawana fish from the Amazon. This strong fish uses its agile body and tail to launch itself straight up from the water to catch unsuspecting prey on branches hanging over the river. Each earring features a cascade of scales dyed to dark turquoise, lime green, intense pink or deep purple hanging below a matching colored bead.
Please note that we have discontinued this model because we have learned that the dye applied to the scales may come off when wet with the risk it could stain clothing.
These earrings are made by expert artisans from Iquitos who have worked with the Center for Amazon Community Ecology for ten years. The French hooks are made with non-allergenic material.
