Handmade Shoulder Strap Chambira Palm Fiber Bags in Variety of Colors, made in Peruvian Amazon
These handmade, boho style shoulder bags were hand-woven by a native artisan from the Peruvian Amazon with natural and durable chambira palm fiber. These bags are great to shop in a outdoor market or to take a good book and suntan lotion to the beach. They are also great as an everyday purse, roomy and comfortable to wear. Three models available here, including a weathered green, red and black striped bag, a black, brown and natural chambira ivory color bag, and a black, green and red bag. All have a clasp and a strap measuring approximately 1.5" by 36" and measure 12" by 12" including the rounded base area.
A tag lists the artisan's name and community and the plants they used to make it. Please note that each handmade bag may vary from the photo shown.

Support native artisans & rainforest in the Amazon
Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
